O'Lentil is a vegan alternative protein food. It is made from all natural ingredients and super quick and easy to cook. It cooks in 3-5 minutes. The main ingredients used is oats and lentils.
It is versatile, high in protein, fibre, low in salt and contains no colourings, preservatives or added sugars or oils, and is also gluten-free. I am a real fan of their products. It's a great change to tofu and a great alternative if you don't want to eat soy.
It has a pretty low amount of calories per 100g (144 kcal) and 9.6 grams of protein. For something this healthy it tastes fricken good! And a great and different alternative to meat. I find the taste, texture and look very similar to a herby sausage.
O'Lentil have lot's of recipes you can follow on their website.
I actually created my own and made a pasta dish using O'Lentil. I fried up some onion, garlic, mushrooms, broccoli, baby spinach, with some tomato sauce, and added in sliced pieces of O'Lentil. I served it up on some brown rice pasta and topped it with nooch (nutritional yeast).
It was so good I made it again the next night! I really recommend it.
O'Lentil is stocked in a variety of stores and Wholefoods around the UK, but they really need to be stocked in Wholefoods in London!
It has a really nice texture and has lots of flavour from the different herbs. It tastes similar to a chicken and herb sausage. I love Italian herbs so I loved this. It was delicious! Thank you O'Lentil for creating a different and tasty protein alternative.
Same texture. The Mediterranean one had more flavour I think, and I love Italian herbs so the Mediterranean one was definitely my favourite. This was a bit more plain but still had the strong herby flavours. It tasted more like stuffing. Still good though.
