Vegan Chocolate and Peanut Butter Truffles

I love making raw balls for an easy and healthy snack, or to eat with a cup of chai or matcha tea in the afternoon. There are so many different variations you can make. Here I have made some plain chocolate ones as well as with peanut butter, so you can mix it up if you like. And if you have a nut allergy you can just stick to the chocolate ones and roll the balls in ingredients like coconut or cacao powder.

They are SO delicious, especially the peanut butter ones. You are going to love them!

Chocolate & Peanut Butter Truffles

Vegan Chocolate and Peanut Butter Truffles


(makes around 15 balls)

2/3 cup soaked cashews (soak for at least 3 hours)

2 tbsp soy milk (or other plant milk)

1 cup medjool dates (about 10 dates)

1/2 avocado

1/2 cup oats

4 tbsp cacao powder

3 tbsp agave nectar (or maple syrup)

1 tsp maca powder

3 tbsp peanut butter (smooth, or crunchy if you want a bit of crunch)

Good pinch of pink himalayan salt

About 1/2 cup chopped peanuts (or other ingredients) for coating balls


Firstly, blend together the cashews and plant milk together in a food processor or high speed blender until it forms a creamy consistency.

Add the rest of the ingredients except the peanut butter, and blend until smooth.

At this point you can start rolling into balls if you just want chocolate flavour, or you can take half of the mixture out, to make half chocolate and half chocolate peanut butter.

Add the peanut butter to the mixture and stir through, don't blend.

Roll mixture into balls with the palm of your hands and roll into chopped peanuts. You may have to wet your hands a little as the mixture is quite sticky.

Store balls in a container in the fridge.

Notes: If you are just making chocolate truffles you can use other ingredients if you like to cover the balls, like chopped hazelnuts, desiccated coconut, cacao powder, maca powder or cacao nibs. Even dipping them in melted chocolate or melted chocolate and peanuts! Yum!
